Kids and Fishing

Post by RedneckAngler on Sun Jul 19, 2009 9:36 pm

Went on a family camping trip to Gardner Lake. Learned a lot about young kids fishing on a boat. It's not easy with a 4 and 5 year old, even w/ worms and bobbers. We fed a lot of fish, my son loves to fish and sit on the boat and my daughter just wants to cruise around. A lot of wind made it next to impossible as their lines were all over the place. One bobber would be a foot under while I was baiting the other hook. Too much slack in the line, the list goes on. Daddy has a lot to learn. I don't think I'm going to burn anyones hotspot on this post. Fun weekend though.

Danny's first bass. Graduated from worms and panfish to shiners and bass. Danny has a bit more patience than his sister. No hesitation, just grabbed the lip!

classic..i still love shiner fishing..if your daughter loves to cruise around take her out(when she is much older) for tuna on a high speed boat with spreaders.....did that for wahoo...it was fun..i got skunked..but the wife got a 5 ftr.....the 1st bass is fun.....i dont remember when i got mine, but i bet i did when i was younger...bass are so fun...i could fish them w/exclusivity,,,but then again i wouldnt be a hybridangler, would i?

i need to fish for more bass next year...and i cannot wait to take my kid fishing...i think i will wait till she is 4

when i take my two boys 5 and three year old's i just use 1 rod and reel. when 1 cathes a fish the other one gets a turn till he catches a fish. other wise i spend the whole time untangling a big mess. not only that but i get fit drinking time in somewhere
