saltwater rods...

Not sure about who makes the sweetest rods, but unless you are reeling in Marlin, Sailfish, or blue whales, any reasonable rod will do. Remember those fancy schmancy rods don't make you a better fisherman. Experience and determination do. just sayin'

for sure... all i pay attention to is the guides and the butt section, if they are solid, they get a thumbs up...why pay 170 for a surf rod, when you can get a rod and a penn reel 4 less?

I'm of the belief that hardware is just that hardware, regardless of price. Some others like the pricey stuff.

better to spend the money on important shit, /not like a 500 reel or rod will catch you more feesh, it's all about the skill , the luck or both...may we all have both as much as possible.

no doubt....keith danger and i saw a poor man fish with a spraypaint can, a line , and a hook with 1/4 of a sandworm...and he got one...not only that but he could cast really far...he was like an aborogine with that shit....admitably that's when we cast poorly and we thought 30 lbs test was needed for surfcasting...might as well use piano wire..i never use over 18 lb test........back to the subject at hand......when picking a 2 piece, check where it connects and make sure the the blank isnt split..usually the inside isn't plugged on surf rods.
so if you want some rods that perform like the pricey ones i suggest ande, uglistick, and tica...tica is more expensive but not nearly as much as others......tica is my fav......ande gets my vote for co-editors choice......they are usually less than 40 bucks and they come in many sizes...the handle isnt as skinny as the competitors, but u still get the nice dorktape handle, nice guides, and the action is fast....they can be used with much heavier weights than the regular rods

tica makes great rods for the price...they are mid-low anywhere from 60-140....but sales can be found...i got a nice 8ft 1piece for 45 during end of season out of fishin' factory in middletown...i got a 7ft for pike or stripers...and the 8ft does the same job, but throws more lead.....ande is also great....their cork is a little thicker,...but they use fuji guides and their shit will last just as long as a tica...ande rods are fuckin cheap...i think the best bang for your buck...less than 60 bucks for their largest and you can spend the rest of your hard earned money on a penn.....i got a captiva baitfeeder on my 10ft....it was only 45 bucks off ebay......harlee rod co....it was cheaper cause it was missing a fukin paint chip....good save, those reels are usually 25-30 bucks more

most importantly do your research, or ask, a co-THM would be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
